On a fresh morning in Embrach on 07th August CC Zurich Nasir won the toss & elected to bat.We played it fair as he was not having enough players to field I as captain allowed him to call for toss.
Ideally Nomads would have got opportunity to bat as not being 11 players but my intention was to have full game.
Our team did show up for some practice with the bat & ball before the game.
The match started a bit late but we decided to open the bowling with Hari & Hakim it was a brisk start from opposition until Hari pitch a short ball & Prasad was placed at deep square leg to grab a straight forward catch of Malik.
Very soon Hakim struck clean bowled Salman & score was 7.5 overs 41 runs.
Prasad was holding tight lengths from other end which was not allowing the opposing team to break free Prasad struck 2 wickets one came off a fantastic catch from Ammar diving to his right lifted the team on fielding front.
Previous match the team had been dropping catches but it appeared that today team was ready for a fight.
From the opposition side no one was allowed to settle in & hold innings as dot balls pressure made sure they go for big shots & in the process lost wickets.
Zabi picked up key wicket of Waqar & later on in the innings Gajen brought end the Nasirs resistance for a clean bowled in 14th over.
Abid showed some boundary hitting abilities & pushed the score to 112/7 before being caught by Qasim standing as wicket keeper on the bowling of Gajen.
ZCC managed to put a score of 120 in 20 overs.
When it came to our batting we were opening with Satbir & Hakim.Hakim was sent to slog the ball but he managed to stay & play with Satbir until Satbir lost his wicket in the 7th over when score was 31.
Hakim got out on 17 when Team score was 47 in the 9th over.
Qasim was sent in the middle once again to try & accelerate the scoring which he did manage to struck 2 boundaries & he perished quickly when score was 67.
Zabi was playing well on one end but he got out nicking the ball to wicket keeper he managed to make 15 & we were 4 down for 67.
With wickets falling captain decided to step in & started taking control of the situation with Awneet but he lost his wicket as Awneet when he went for a big shot & he was caught at deep square leg for a superb catch by square leg fielder.
Musadiq came in & could not rotate the strike & he also went for big shot & perished.
Then captain asked Hari to join in the middle.He understood the situation well & started rotating the strike well along with captain.
In the end with support from Hari Prasad pulled up a captains innings to bring team home.
The highlight of his innings was a reverse sweep sending the ball for a six over deep backward point region.
It was a purely team performance with everyone chipping in on runs & wickets side.
Team proved that catches win matches.
It was our first T20 win of the season.
